Welcome to Egypt

Well we are hurtling down the Cairo desert road at breakneck speeds. Driving here is an adventure. Our guide and his driver met us at the port and whooshed us into a van. We are near the front of a long line of tour vans and buses. They said over 2,500 people were going on tour today from the boat.
The desert is here although they are developing along the roads. There are pigeon houses every so often and Lots of factories. Pigeons are an expensive aphrodesiac here.
Glenn explained geocaching to our guide and he is game to help us find some caches. I had mentioned we like photography sonthey have planned the day with that in mind.
They put speed bumps on the freeway every now and again that just about knock your teeth out. Street vendors selling sunglasses canes and tea are set up near them.
We made it to Memphis and Zoser. Emma is a superstar here. Everyone wants a picture with her. The guide would like her to marry his son.





Lunch is Right at the pyramids.






After lunch we looked for geocaches. All of us turned pretty pink hiking around. We saw the sphinx and the three pyramids. We also went to a papyrus store and learned how they make papyrus. We checked into out beautiful hotel and rested for a couple hours.





Then we were picked up and drove to a cruise on the Nile.they had belly dancers and a whirling dervish. The food once again was fantastic and our guide is excellent. He loves kids and he likes photography and has given us some great shots! The other guides also love kids. Everyone loves Emma. She has usurped Violet here for attention. We sat on the top deck of the boat while the guides played with the kids. The girls in particular just loved it. Ok must sleep more tomorrow!
